- combination padlock

- big paper
- tape

- roll of sticky tape
- lunchbox
Prepare beforehand
- Release Alex: Write clues in a UV invisible-ink pen leading to the code for a padlocked box holding a teddy 'Alex'.
- Create the best upside-down self portrait using only the materials supplied: Tape big sheets of paper to an outside wall or fence.
- Pop the balloons: Blow up a bunch of balloons and tie them around the garden.
Changes for playing at home
- Surprise Alex when he emerges from the shed: A grown-up waits in another room for 30 minutes; no fireworks, fire or water buckets in the surprise.
