You’ll need
- anything from around the house
- orange or ball
- planks, elastic, spoons, boxes
- paints
- paper
- unsliced loaf
- one tool from a drawer
- water balloons, foam, custard, flour
- large cardboard with a face hole
- washable face paint or poster paint
Prepare beforehand
- Paint the best rainbow scene: Put paints and paper in a room with the lights off and curtains drawn.
- Paint the most recognisable animal, vegetable, or mineral: An adult cuts a face-sized hole in a large sheet of cardboard beforehand.
Changes for playing at home
- Make the best coconut-flinging machine: Fling an orange or ball instead of a coconut; nobody stands in the firing line.
- Slice the loaf as neatly as possible: Choose one tool that isn't a knife or blade (a ruler, string, a fish slice).
- Achieve the greatest splat: Soft, food-safe splat materials only, and nothing aimed at faces.
